The Mists of Avalon

Read it a couple times. Well written... engaging plot. Tragic story. The film did a pretty good job of depicting the story.

At times it will bring tears to your eyes, other times you will become so angry at the choices the characters make you will want to throw the book against the wall. A highly emotional and moving experience, and a new way to look at the Arthurian legend, from the eyes of the women behind the thrown... an absolute must read!

If I could only bring one work of fiction to an island, it would be this.
