This series is more for people that like a single on-going story, rather than discrete novels. I'm enjoying it, but the books are bleeding together.

I so loving how princess is becoming stronger with each book! A great read but can drag on for portions in this book. This is getting so goood! Go Princess!

Good book. Really liking this series. This entire book takes place in one day which sometimes throws me off a bit but I'm really starting to like the main characters.

Stroke of Midnight is the fourth in Laurell K Hamilton's Merry Gentry series. They are best read in order, so I recommend you go back and start with A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry Novels). The series is a fun ride, so you might as well start from the beginning. I think that this book carried on longer than it should. A good chunk could've been cut out of this, and one sex scene was a little over the top and completely unrealistic. A lot of the scenes in this book seem to drag pointlessly on and on and on, like the descriptions for example. It would go from someone's hair, to their eyes, how the color of their eyes or hair contrasted with other colors....more

This book is an improvement on the 3rd which seemed to concentrate more on the men's hair colour than anything resembling a plot. This book begins with a crime commited in the faerie's magical home. It is decided that the police should be called in to investigate and it then takes Hamilton more than 250 pages for Merry to call the police and have them arrive.
