This book is another example of why Star Wars fans love Timothy Zahn. The creator of Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade uses this book to add to one of the greatest characters ever introduced to the extended universe. Outbound Flight is the introduction of the Chiss Ascendancy and the brilliant mastermind Mitth’raw’nuruodo to the Republic (soon to become the Empire) during the time of the Clone...more

Timothy Zahn is the best Star Wars author ever. Period. George shouldn't have done the prequels, he should have paid Zahn to do them.

Interesting story about C'Baoth and Thrawn, but it is difficult to see, where Thrawn-of-the-past fits with Thrawn-of-the-future.

Star Wars novels's continue to give the best with this Timothy Zahn vision. Altough the narrative is great, and each character is given a bunch of focus, perhaps the ending is too abrupt, giving the sense of a hurried finale. Critical to understand the events to unfold in the clone wars... thumbs up!

Love this author for the Star Wars universe. One of the best in sticking to canon.

ehh. . . Star Wars is getting really tired. There is always a fight, but there's always a direct and simple target.

Great novel. Finally wraps up the Outbound Flight story first referenced in the original Thrawn series.

Well, like Mr. Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy, this book wasn't too bad, but it could have been better. But you know, it was really nice to see Grand Admiral Thrawn again, even though he isn't Grand Admiral in this book yet, and we get to see the original Jorus C'boath who was apart from his clone in the Thrawn Trilogy! And I tell you, the original C'boath is pretty mean and we know what happened to him!
