Thought at first that this one had much more interesting characters, but for some reason it seemed to slow down... perhaps it was simply because I was too busy to give it much time per sitting.

The first Alex Delaware novel was good, and this one was a marked improvement. The characters become a little more grounded in the second outing, and the plot is more concise and flows much better. It still maintains twists and turns to keep the reader guessing, even if some of them seem a bit contrived. The plot moves along at a quick pace, and it doesn't leave you time to get bored.  The first Alex Delaware novel was good, and this one was a marked improvement. The characters become a little more grounded in the second outing, and the plot is more concise and flows much better. It still maintains twists and turns to keep the reader guessing, even if some of them seem a bit contrived. The plot moves along at a quick pace, and it doesn't leave you time to get bored. There is one rather gratuitous sex scene (not involving the main couple, even) that could have been left out and the book would have been just fine. Overall, it has a good suspense plot and good character development. I recommend it and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kellerman does in the third installment.   hide
