Armageddon's Children (Genesis of Shannara)

Engaging like no other. Read it in a single seat (almost).

Something different from Terry Brooks! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was great to have a magical world from a world we relate to.

Wonderful read, captivating,and answers so many questions about the Shannara series.

This was an odd turn for Brooks' Shannara series. The novel takes place not in the Shannara world, but in the good ol' United States, or the ruins of the States at least. It was definitely a change from Terry's usual Shannara book but change can be good and I still enjoyed this book

This is great. I had kind of lost interest in Terry Brooks' last couple of Shannara series, but this got me back! Set as a prequel to the Sword of Shannara series, it starts about 50 (?) years after humans have pretty much destroyed the world, and most of the race in the process, and demons are starting to take it over. You are introduced to two Knights of the Word that have been travelling around killing demons, and also to a gang of street kids - the Ghosts - that survive in this post apocalyptic world. The Elves and the Ellcrys also make an appearance towards the end of the book. Can't wait for the next one now!   hide

I was so caught up in the story of sci fiction, fantasy and armageddon

This novel felt a bit slow. I understand that it is setting up the trilogy, but even a New Hope was an interesting story in the Star Wars trilogy.

So far can't put down.

Not sure if I'll finish this one.
