When I got to the end of this book I almost cried because I thought the series was over! I was happy to see that I was wrong and the next comes out in Dec. 2009. I love Meredith Gentry a close second to Anita Blake. Laurel K. Hamilton is the BEST!!!!!!!
Awesome story and liked how things were all tied together at the end. Now I'm wondering what the next book in the series is going to deal with as so many things got dealt with in this book. I guess I'll have to read "Divine Misdemeanors" to find out.
This is Book 7 in The Merry Gentry series written by Laurell K. Hamilton. I highly recommend the series. The covers of these books are very deceiving ... they look like romance novels, but they are really an intricate dark fantasy series from the author that wrote the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.
This was okay, not one of her best. I found the story hard to follow at times and am unsure if this is the last book in the series as it left it open to be continued. There were too many unanswered questions and it left me a little disappointed.

LKH lost her way on this one. Swallowing Darkness is a mishmash of various plotpoints and Merry jumps from one to another throughout the book.
