Yes, it's annoying you can't negotiate your cell phone contract case by case. But come on -- banks, credit cards, phones, pay television, insurance, etc, are all much, much better products than they were a decade ago. And they are, for the most part, cheaper. So yes ... we have fees and charges. Yes ... they are often not disclosed. Yes ... this is very annoying and often unfair. But there is no indication in this book that these types of fees might be a side effect of something good instead of the whole of something bad. Read the book for the good information on how to avoid fees, but don't fall for the populist, anti-corporate creed.
