Bittersweet. I usually prefer to finish a Star Wars novel feeling uplifted and smiling, but this one fits my mood right now. There's so much uncertainty about so many things -- all you can do is hope for the characters that you come to care about.
After Hard Contact and Triple Zero this was a big disappointment. It really feels like Traviss is just "spinning her wheels" until Order 66 arrives. With Order 66 on the horizon Traviss is unable to advance the plot significantly so this book is mostly soap opera between Etain
I really enjoyed this book being a Star Wars fan. It got deeper into the live of the Commando's and showed a human side and that desire to live life not as a soldier but an everyday citizen with freedom and choices.
