Clever, brilliant and a thought provoking page turner about how ideas spread. Reat it, you'll learn a lot - not just about ideas.

SUMMING IT UP: Beautifully and passionately written, this investigation into the causes of fads and epidemics by the New Yorker writer, Malcolm Gladwell, is an insightful and utterly digestible addition to his already impressive collection of work. Using a clear and concise train of thought, Gladwell links the likes of the Hush Puppies brand to HIV to syphilis to crime rates to breast...more

I thought it was an interesting book full of engaging anecdotes but it would have worked just as well as a series of Sunday Papers articles

Some interesting insights into the way people are influenced. Yeah there are a couple of times I thought, "get on with it", but was definitely worth the read. Need to read it again whilst making notes.

I really enjoyed this book. I am sure academics may find it a bit weak but if you wonder why soemthing becomes a fashion or if you are a Connectors, Mavens or a Salesman you will find it informatiave. I like reading about social psychology and sociology so it was an easy read.

Not the book I thought it was. Having seen it hyped by the more businessy crowd that I follow online, I assume it was some business book. Really it's pop psychology with a dose of Gleick's Chaos and a side dish of Dawkin's 'Selfish Gene'. A number of case studies of how ideas reached a 'tipping point' through social interactions and spilled over into the mainstream...more
