Tom Friedman is an amazing writer, and being Jewish you would assume he would take sides. But as a truly proffessional journalist, he is able to maintain his objectivity and present the facts (mostly) We are all human and he admits at a couple points in the book that he is biased about certain events due to personal involvement. But this book traces every step, every name, and every event from the split of Ismail and Isaac in Genesis to the establishment of the nation of Israel in 1948 to the 6 day war to the modern day and the strife and tension that continues to build between the U.S., Israel, and the entire Arab conglomerate. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to further your own personal knowledge of world events. But be warned, if you think the bible has some hard names to master, just wait until you open up this book!
