OK.....I really REALLY wanted to know how he made it a year without toilet paper. I'm ashamed to admit that I wanted details. But he failed to deliver the details...which sadly left me wanting more.

This book actually reminded me a lot of the ideas in Fight Club... and liberation theology, as weird as that sounds. Even stranger, the prose sometimes reads like James Frey. Overall an awesome book.

His interest in clean living at the beginning it completely non-existent - he eats out every night and his family consumes roughly 6-8 cups of take out coffee a day without even a thought to having a reusable mug? Either he is exaggerating for comic effect - my first thought - or else we are all doomed if there are truly many people who lives his kind of...more

Excellent! At first glance, it may seem to be yet another manifesto by someone with the luxury of time and resources to live "holier than thou", but at its core, it is so much more. His honesty at the difficulties of his plan was refreshing. It is really about living the "good life" while still being a responsible and sustainable steward of the earth. It is also about finding peace and joy with...more
