This is one of the hardest books to actually read and understand. The whole story is great but the Iliad just becomes boring.

My personal favorite translation of The Iliad. Beautiful writing and, as a point of snobbery with me, as close of a representation in English of the Greek names as possible. Read it. Love it.

The best translation ever. Muscular, spare, imagistic. Amazing how Fitzgerald made this classic come alive.
