The opening chapters of Soros' life is pretty interesting. But in general the book reads largely like a propaganda-piece. It's a bit like Lisa Endlich's account of Goldman Sachs: far too uncritical.

Whether you think he is a philanthropist or merely a speculator is not important.. The important thing is the man has visions and  guts .. his true motivation was never money but his philosophy.. an open society... is it okay for one to play "G-D" if one is rich enough?  I am not sure, but he definitely had an interesting enough life...
