Abrupt is the best word to describe this novel. Events simply happen (sometimes it seems without any explanation) and the protagonist goes off on random tangents more than one would like.

Okay book, I guess. The analysis of NYC class and race has been done MUCH better other places. Very light reading.

I really enjoyed this book about two orphan sisters who, all grown up, learn to rely on each other in new ways, learning much about themselves and each other in the process. Good, believable characters and an engaging story line.

This book is painful to get through!! I can't stand the way this woman writes. Takes 175 pages to get through 15 minutes of actual story.

I really enjoyed this book. Pretty exciting for a book without a lot of action.

A good vacation read without much depth - perfect for the beach when you also want to enjoy the scenery.
