Fascinating story about a man who makes a deal with the devil to become a genius composer. Can be really hard to follow. Maybe it's the German to English translation.

I am not one to shy away from esoteric books, in fact I really enjoy Umberto Eco. But, I have to rank this book right up there with "The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James: boring!
