Sort of a sequel to "A Fine Balance", but an outstanding story in its own right. Again, it is heartbreakingly believable and you'd have to be a robot not to mist up at the end.
I did really enjoy this book. I particularly liked some of the metaphors early in the book. I did feel that for 2/3rds of the book I was full of anticipation - somehow left a little bewildered as the book changed tack suddenly and it was left to flat-line. Not a strong ending with an epilogue that jumps 5 years. Never a fan of those! Overall a very good read.
