Really well written; very poetic. I love the Ottoman Empire setting and the bit of romance. I also like how he looks at things through each character's eyes, showing their positive sides and any perfections as well as their human flaws. A very intelligent writer.

not my kind...

I just couldn't get in to this one... probably only made it through the first 50 pages.

It's an easier read that it could have been. It's such a different culture that I didn't really relate to the characters, nor could I predict what was likely to happen next. But it had some nice touches, and it left me feeling kind of worthy, like I'd learnt stuff.

You get to learn more about the history of illustrators in Turkey.

Very very intrestin...

It is a little bit boring if you read it as a novel only. But the way of story telling is very unique. I got bored at the beginning, but was attracted by its writing structure.

nice insight in the ottoman culture. it leaves a bitter-sweet taste at the and. definitely worth the effort.
