Carson is an artist; her creative passion, and not her readers, reign. This piece probes deep into the wounds of one lover to discover the origin of pain. "Wounds," Carson writes, "give off their own light," and so, her poetry radiates a debilitating, provocative, and yes, a truly beautiful light.

Anne Carson.. what can I say? She depicted the horror and tragedy and pain and love of a failing romance. An awesome feat. Felt like whe wrote it just for me.
