Very very strange, didn't like it much, specially during the climax, it has some very silly ideas. Anyway, the basic premise is interesting. You are "born" old, go younger by the day and finally crawl into your mother uterus and "die", hopefully in a climax.

Philip K. Dick is my favourite author, so if I was to say this wasn't my favourite novel by him, it would still say that it's way better than anything else I've read. Another mindfuck of a story. Time in reverse, people coming back to life after dying once who are called Old-borns. I wonder what readers thought of these kind of stories in 1967?

I thought I'd read every strange PKD novel, but this one has to be the strangest yet. In this book, time has kicked into reverse. Dead bodies come alive in their coffins and have to be dug up, and then the people grow younger. When a former religious leader reawakens, he tries to write down everything he remembers about being dead, and others try to prevent him from doing so. I guarantee that...more

Very interesting, this book takes your imagination for a ride. While he plays with some metaphysical concepts through his idea of time reversal and rebirth, the story is set in a world not entirely foreign from our own. Dick's views on authority are also intensely clear, the library being a symbol of a hierarchy that is detached from the needs of the people it serves. Perhaps my favorite aspect...more
