I like this guy and everything he has written, but this novel is his best creation. It's about pretty actress - Julia, her husband and son, and about how contradictory creature a woman can be.

Realized it had been made into a movie (Being Julia) about halfway through the first chapter. Still an excellent book...and now I know just how perfect Annette Benning was in the movie.
