Reading this book through the eyes of Ned himself, you begin to understand what the Irish population had to endure in Australia's early years. Fantastic read, if you know the Ozzie culture. I think the 1970 film featuring Mick Jagger was a better portrayal of the story than the modern version.

The lifestory of Ned Kelly is enthralling yet tragic. I love how Peter Carey formed the words in a more narrative style, which is full of coarse language and boorish slangs.
