Like his book "Thunderstruck," this follows two parallel storylines: the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and the discovery of a charming serial killer. Great non-fiction read.

Just the most fascinating story! Who knew about all this in our generation - Chicago is a city I love to visit and now I've learned amazing things about its history. Read this!

The most amazing thing about this book is that everything in it is factual... truly stranger than fiction, and a great window into an amazing historical period.

This book is so interesting. I enjoyed learning about all of the logistics that went into planning the World Fair in Chicago. Lots of excellent history woven in with a real killing spree.

Fascinating history. A little meaty in parts.

History which reads like fiction. In every section there is a nugget of info about how the Chicago Worlds Fair relates back to something in our common lives today, like the first use of spray paint. Also gives a great appreciation for the changes in technology a century later and what we take for granted. In summer heat our streets do not smell of horse manure. woo hoo.
