I can't write anymore than that without giving it away but I would definitely recommend this book. Very easy and quick to read but includes a lot of thought and meaning throughout. This is the first book that has made me want to stay up through the night to finish in a very long time. About 200 pages. The prose is beautiful, the characters easily distinguished and the story interesting.   hide

Left me disturbed. I liked it but out Murakami's book its my least favourite.

A slim volume, more novella than novel, the book explores some of the more familiar Murakami themes - loss, alienation, parallel existences - set against a backdrop of Greek island sunshine. The mystery of Sumire's disappearance helps keep the pages turning, and the ending is pleasingly amibiguous.
