Living in Budapest made reading this novel all the more interesting. Young expats trying their luck in the newly independent Hungary struggling with former soviet administration, anger and resentment. Some survive, some strive and flourish and some fail.

There is a definite tone set in this book--one of lost, 20somethings finding their way in a place that is not quite home. I liked the wandering soul-searchy feel of this book in general.

Loved this book. I studied abroad in the spring of '91 and if I had had cojones at the time, would have gone to Eastern Europe.  Evokes the time and the limitless horizons of youth.

It´s about Budapest, so he title is misleading. Didn´t so much like the plot, found it dragging. The charaters were kind of flat too.
