The crux of this book is family and relationships - the earlier books Eragon, Eldest and Brisingr seemed more about Eragon understanding himself.
This is a long book, at 784 pages. If you are forced by daily life to become an opportunistic reader, (a chapter-snatcher) - parts of the detail in sections may seem excessive. However, like any good imagined world, they draw you into it, keeping part of you there to thinking about it when you're not reading. To me, that's a measure of a good fantasy. If you can only travel to that world except through the pages, it hasn't really come alive. Can't wait until the next instalment which seems like a bonus as this was originally intended to be a trilogy. Doesn't seem to be a release date yet...maybe 2010!!!! hide
