Kel is... uhm... a very own self-being... I couldn't get warm to her in the book, but I really liked Neal! He is such a great character, Roald as well, if he would have been more in the book.

read it! really creative and interesting story line in a world Pierce makes her own. 
 i was hesitant to read this at first as i found that the main character starts as an 11 year old, but the situations she faces can relate to most of all ages. 
As you read further into the series she grows and becomes older, (the books spanning over 7 years, till she's 18)taking on more...more

As you read further into the series she grows and becomes older, (the books spanning over 7 years, till she's 18)taking on more responsibility and forced to make more adult decisions.
 Great humor, likable characters, detailed introduction to a new world, and great writing.
