He had testified against government level corruption and the family became the subject of a government-orchestrated protection plan. I read this when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I really enjoyed it, although I think I was too young to truly grasp it all. This is yet another book classified as "young adult" that is just as good for adults. I have to read this one again.

Disturbing in a way but what a great twist ending! I tried to read one of his other books but a girl gets raped in the beginning and I just couldn't take. This is the only one I will ever read.
