It was very good at the beginning, then the first story ended and i was disappointed because i wanted more of the first. Then it got better as i got used to it, but i started getting tired of it when it became religious and it redeemed it's self with the last two stories.

I love Margo Lanagan's short stories.  If you are yet to encounter her, start with Black Juice and move on to this delicious read.

This was a well deserved winner in the Older Readers section of the Children's Book Council Book of the Year this year. A collection of stories that are confronting, disturbing, yet hauntingly beautiful, and will remain with you for a long time after you read them. High recommendation, especially "A Feather in the Breast of God" which was nominated for best Short Story in the Aurealis...more
