The Ruby in the Smoke: A Sally Lockhart Mystery

It was light and engaging, with some clever phrasings of words.

A fun and quick read, and nice to see a smart, strong female character at the helm. Unfortunately, nowhere near as good as his "Dark Materials" trilogy which is three tiers above this enjoyable fluff.

Yes - a really good read, I must say. Looking forward to the sequels and his dark materials too.

i cannot believe they made this into a drama, the plot and whole story were pathetic. was dissapointed.

Interesting read- characters you feel you actually know (and either love or loathe), lots of twists and turns, and ending well done. Made me want to read the next in the series.
