This deluxe edition includes deleted scenes, an exclusive foldout poster, never-before-seen art by the author, and a guide to dwarf runes. Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.  First is Eragon's oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran's beloved from King Galbatorix's clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices—choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.  In Eragon lies the greatest hope for a better Alagaësia. Can this once simple farm boy rise to become the leader he must to unite the rebel forces and defeat the king? A #1 New York Times BestsellerA #1 USA Today BestsellerA Wall Street Journal BestsellerA Publishers Weekly BestsellerAn IndieBound Bestseller less
I don't know if it is that I think like Paolini, but I never get surprised. I know what is going to happen. I have in all 3 books. But it is a great book.
Christopher Paolini changed his writting style throughout the series. This book is almost impossible for me to read. I will try to make my way through it but its been hard and im only at chapter 5.

I eagerly await the last book in the series. I have never seen a writer give me mixed feelings about his/her writing from book to book and finally convincing me of his true wonderful worth! Come on last book now...where...more

Many say Paolini's writing hasn't fully matured. If this is the case, then at the least Brisingr has shown he has come a long way. The best in the series thus far.
Christopher Paolini is a gifted young author who is able to weave a story that will keep you reading into the wee hours of the morning and then some. I laughed, cried and cheered while reading this series. I would love to see what happened to the young dragon rider after this.
