I certainly give the author two thumbs up! I've never read a historically fantasy like this one... The book creatively shows a different side to all the myths and legends I've known that relates to this story. As a girl, myself, I enjoyed reading about Helen as someone that had dignity and wits embodied in a little girl. This book is a definate must read :D

BUT

I must warn you not to...more

BUT

I must warn you not to get too involved with the book. It's so well written that you start to think that the story was the REAL deal... but it's not... It was written as a fictional book and should not be taken as fact but of course, who knows... it may or may not be true. ;]

This was far from my favorite book. I know nothing about Helen of Troy, but I'm sure this was a comlete disgrace to her name. The main character was so painfully perfect I wanted to gag. She was perfect at everything, all of her plans worked, and everyone loved her. The plot was flat, and the writing was completely basic. If I could unread it, I would.

This is an awesome book about what Helen of Troy's life could have been like before the Trojan War. The author writes the characters really well especially Helen. I recommend this book for people to read because it's so good. :-D

i know absolutely nothing about helen of troy that wasn't in "troy" (and uh, even if it was, i was probably distracted by all the pretty boys in short skirts anyway), but i really liked this! yay!

I have never liked Helen of Troy... not the story (which was a stupid waste of lives)... so was dubious about reading this book.  The first half sucked.  The second half was better.. that's when I officially got into it.  Now must read the next one!
