more This books starts off all right but gets more and more irritating along the way with its myriad prejudices (which are not attributed to characters). It spans the stories of three generations of a family, with the last generation being totally pointless and just dragging the book on. The author seems to think beauty lies in blue eyes and redheads and blond(e)s and has quite a white supremacy thing going. Characters change their natures without explanation or meaningful philosophy taught. Annoyingly shallow for those who appreciate a well-written book, and comes nowhere near the realms of a classic.
