I loved travelling and seeing the world through another solo traveller, and feeling the ups and downs of just the normal things of travel: weather, injuries, getting lost, rude or indifferent services... And nicely combined with a lens that encouraged me to look at each encounter as part of the cultural experience of travelling. Hmmm.... maybe that indifferent service is just common in that country. I'm travelling to Europe next year and Bill's book encouraged me to relax and let things unfold as they may.
