Salem's Lot

Stephen King (the person) really weirds me out. But that's beside the point; I just wanted to throw that out there. This book was pure dime-store trash... and I loved every second of it. Good story - bad literature. The movie adaptation is aweful and shame on Rob lowe for participating in it.

Of course this book will scare you silly, but what I admire most is how he approached the already cliched and trite horror staple of the vampire and made it fresh and scary again.

Terrifying, awesome classic horror. Like picking up an old Tales from the Crypt by way of Bram Stoker. Perfect straightforward supernatural horror.

It was my first Stephen King and ever since this book I can't stop reading his books. It's way creepy... I wouldn't even read it at night.
