Night Shift

Most of these I either really liked, or I really didn't. I guess it's nice that they were short stories. If you don't like one, there will be another in 20-30 pages. I thought "The Last Rung on the Ladder" was one of the best.

This is the book that started my love affair with Stephen King's writing. I still remember where I was when I started reading this book of short stories, and 29 years later, some of the imagery still is as vivid as it once was...even though I have never reread the book!

Stephen King short stories always remind me of the Simpsons Holloween specials. Stuff you would think is just wacky in a full novel seems to have a home here. There are a few clunkers in the mix (GIJoes coming to life), but the really fantasic ones (The Ledge, Children of the Corn) make up most of the book. Great read.

This is the first book that taught me how enjoyable reading could be. Short stories here are some of his best.

I read this book shortly after it came out and can still remember The Graveyard Shift to this day....Eek!!!

One of the first King books I ever read. It's still a favorite.
