At first i was put off by the title but the more i read the more impressed i became with Stephen Levine's ability to articulate the almost inexpressible subtlety of subjective states and ways to deal with them. Each chapter is accompanied by guided meditations which some may find useful, but which i skipped over, eager to get to the next chapter. If there's a second edition of my anthology "Wisdom for the Soul: Five Millennia of Prescriptions for Spiritual Healing," there is much from this i would include.   hide
