Kit's Wilderness

"It was very deep, Kit. Very dark. And every one of us was scared of it. As a lad I'd wake up trembling, knowing that as a Watson born in Stoneygate...more

Technically, this is a book for young adults, but I'm 24 and I couldn't put it down. It would almost be better to read this book in October, because the images of dead children are truly haunting. As each chapter ended, I wanted to read more. Definately pick this book up.

This book is very haunting. I didn't, like the person below me, believe I'd like it much when I first received it. It's just a book that connects your past to your present and continues into your future. From the game in the mines, to the story Kit wrote that he practically lived in his dreams, to his grandfather dealing with Alzheimers and eventually dying. It left me feeling very strange...more

I started reading this book at school, but we never finished it. Since then I've read pretty much all of David Almond's books. This one started it for me, truly haunting atmosphere down those mines. Inspirational reading. The older I get, the more I see in it. Makes me very grateful for Grandads.

This book is amazing. I got it along time ago from my dad and i just stared at the front cover think, am i really going to like this? I didnt read it for a few years but when i found it and started reading i couldn't believe how good it is. It captures your interest right away and although i don't fully remember it, I know that i loved it.

I, like many others i am sure, thought that this book would be crap. I, like many others, was proven very wrong. I, Like Krista, didnt start reading it untill a couple years of it sitting on my book shelf. I instantly fell in love with the characters and mystery of the whole text. Wonderously written and i aplaud David Almond for a great peice!

I hated this book. I can't believe it won the Michael L. Printz award. I can hardly even believe I kept reading until the end (but I did) because it was so awful.
