So much for Creationism and all that bullcrap! This book will challenge you to confront your own beliefs about money, Capitalism, greed and beauty. After Breakfast of Champions and before Slaughterhouse Five, squeeze this one in. While he did not consider it one of his finest works, I beg to differ. A beautiful story, not too challenging, it may not make you laugh or cry, but it will leave you...more

If you read Slaughterhouse Five in highschool, or are an avid Vonnegut fan and just haven't gotten around to picking this one up yet, go out and buy it, or steal it from the library. If Marx and Engels were half this entertaining we would all be living in a socialist utopia by now. Or we'd all be volunteer firemen in a failing communist state. Whatever. God Damn It You Gotta Be Kind!!

I think no matter what we are, good or bad, we have to be sincere about ourselves. It's easy to show others how good, nice or kind we are. But to show others what we really are is something else. Mr Rosewater is the most sincere and the most honest character I ever knew.

Vonnegut tackles the sordid subject of class and unconditional love.

Definitely my least favorite as I work...more

No real comments. The main characters are not really likable, and I learned from Kurt that there should always be someone in the story who the reader can root for. That's not really the case here.

Love it because it's all about perceptions of craziness, and what society makes of it all. Bold and hilarious, in classic Vonnegut fashion. A fun, quick lil read!!!!

Loved it...although the ending left me wanting to read more about the outcome of the case. I would take it that Kurt didn't find the outcome relevant- R.I.P.

Mr. Rosewater reminds me of Dagny Taggert's brother in Atlas Shrugged.
