Based in Bangalore, these stories of any family you think, ffrom the top of your head. Very well written in terms of language and context. So much so that it's worth a second read. I'm glad I picked this one up on an impulse!

A really nice collection of semi-connected short stories about lives of different people in modern Bangalore. A realistic and well-written piece of work that brings up a lot of interesting issues.

One of the best books on modern day metropolitan life in India. Especially for those who have lived in a city like Bangalore and went to a convent school. You learn something more about India than dowry deaths and arranged marriages. Some of the stories are truly beautiful. Have given a number of them as presents to friends. Only pity is the Indian version has "not for export out of India"...more

A lot of short stories with a Indian twist. Stories seemed to be very formula based stories but a great read if you want to learn more about the common indian person. The shortness of the stories made it difficult to be emotionally involved with the characters.
