The Color Complex

I suffer from this at times-this book focuses on light-skinned versus dark-skinned African Americans-how each perceives, and interacts with out another.

Everyone of all races and all combinations of races should read this book.

This book is very eye opening. It talks about places racism is common among blacks like:churches,greek organizations, schools, and relationships and even analyzes the "good hairbad hair" argument. Many of the situations where blacks are racist amongst each other go unseen. After reading this book you will not look at things the same. Great read!

Although a bit dry at times, this important text takes a historical approach to the color divisions that seem to pervade the black community. This book is a must read for anyone who lives and works with black Americans.

This book opened my eyes to a lot of complexes that I had a forced on other people. A MUST READ!
