more An incredible story. It is evident that Anne was a very talented writer for a teenager - an open, honest and insightful personality. I doubt she ever thought her written work would be as influential as it has become. We are lucky to have this opportunity to see the Holocaust and the war through the eyes of such a person. It was gripping, emotional, a little rambling at times (which only draws the reader further into the monotonous existence of being in hiding), and poignant even 60 years after it was written. When I finished reading the afterword, even though the ending was no surprise, deep in my heart I felt I had lost a friend.
