She is also very good at convincing you that publication will not change anything in your life, so you should find another motivation to write. One of the best books on writing around. I loved it. I loved the insight into her family too.

This is required reading for writers. Funny and instructive. Great for conquering writers' block. Love Lamott!

My only regret as a writer is that I didn't read this book earlier. It's like a best friend and a writing mentor in your back pocket. This volume, I can already tell, will be well-thumbed in the coming weeks, months, years...

Great book! And if you ever get a chance to hear her talk, run, don't walk, to it!!! She is hilarious!!!

Great book on the craft of writing without being technical.

It's quality work... and there are simply too many words, that's all, just cut a few and it will be perfect.
