Amazing. I need to reread this every month, I think.

What can I say--everything Nouwen has written deserves more stars than I can rate.

this book has helped me through a lot of difficult times. aside from the bible, this is my go to book when i'm seeking encouragement. nouwen speaks truth.

When I first read the book, it was truly inspirational and evoked raw emotions. It is beautifully written about one's inner journey during the Dark Night of the Soul.

I've read this book twice, once when I was going thru shitty times, and again when a good friend of mine was going through shitty times. Very helpful in both cases, if you are really open to listen to what Nouwen is saying. Like one of his spiritual imperatives say, however, you almost have to start with an open heart, to be able to continue opening your heart even further.

loved it. loved it. loved it. without a doubt the best book i have ever read for those going through a tough time. don't read it all in one sitting. don't read the entries in order.

This book is just amazing, it makes me realize being broken is OK.

Every time I read this, I learn something new.

I'm re-reading this book, and it is one of those books that is helpful in a completely new way under different circumstances. I'm thankful that people like Henri allow God to transform pain into growth, both for him and for others.
