If you hated poetry in high school when you were fed sonnets and other complicated, rhymed, irrelevant pieces by long dead authors, you NEED to read (or better yet, get the audio book version) of this book. I actually like the audio version better because you get to hear the poets read their poems in their own voices. The advantage of the book is that it includes a large number of poets and poems that were not included in the audio version. I love this book, and love the audio version even more. I had set poetry aside for several years after graduating from college. This book (in the audio form) reignited my love of poetry. I listen to it regularly - I keep in on my iPod and dip into it whenever I need to have my love of language recharged.   hide
