Some of Elaine's father's insights were particularly clever, and I enjoyed reading about her brother Stephen... Elaine's own story tended to be a bit too self-pitying and simpering, which I found a bit tiresome. Still, very beautiful...

Elaine's own story tended to be a bit too self-pitying and simpering, which I found a bit tiresome. Still, very beautiful use of language... Atwood's writing style is, as usual, fluid and wonderful.
