My first Atwood book, will read more. Not as easy read as many but not too complicated, very interesting and captivating!

Great reading. Atwood tells the story of a woman from childhood to middle age, a story about how the things that happen to you at childhood can affect a lifetime.

Beautifully understated writing. If you lack an interest in the social construction of gender and have not had experiences which parallel Elaine's then I can appreciate how you may conclude that 'Cat's Eye' is dull. I've been reading Ms. Atwood's novels in reverse chronological order (sorta), so this is the first one I've come across of hers that didn't have a futuristic dystopian plotline. Drivel. Whiny old woman whines about how terrible it is being old, then whines about how terrible it was being young. Repeat until the reader gives up in disgust.

I remember reading this book when I was younger and just read it again.I think you are either an Atwood fan or you are not. The main character in the book, overcomes a lot of pain and strife.Mostly at the hands of a very cruel little friend. We can all put ourselves back to childhood and the lengths we go for companionship.

I found it dull first time around; probably worth re-reading.
