What a joy to read, although a little depressing that someone has to die in every chapter. Regardless, this book really opens ones eyes to the inner workings and history of the CIA. Well done Ted.

Well-researched and a surprisingly compelling read. Gup does a good job of presenting his subjects as personalities with lives apart from the Company. Works well as a history of the agency iteself, though one with a focus on the actions of individuals rather than the 'big picture'. Unless you really love spy stories it is a hard book to get through. i remember very little of what I read from this book.
