Gripping true story about the liberation of US Soldiers from a Japanese POW camp in the Philippines during the waning days of the Pacific Campaign. Sides is an excellent author.
Historically accurate story of the raid that freed the remaining victims of the Bataan death march. Excellent story and firsthand accounts from the heroes who conducted the raid and the heroes who suffered captivity.
Great recounting of the Bataan Death March and the lives of the POWs who survived it. Being written in a narrative style with no footnotes made this book very easy to read and kept my interest throughout. Highly recommended for WWII history buffs.
