Ok but only the main character is used to drive the plot

This was the most predictable book I've ever read, I can't believe that anyone was held in suspense at all. Newton's apple?? It took a life time for the main character to get to that conclusion & then find it. This is nothing but a copy of 3 different books I read as a child.
