This book is a truly awfuly written book but you've got to keep on reading it because the plot is so gripping + you want to know what happens next. Dan Brown's style is so simple, it is as if a twelve year old has written it + he states the bleeding obvious, sometimes coming accross as patronising, or contemptuous of his reader. If only he'd 'grow up', because the material really is very good, even if he DID nick a lot of his ideas from others.   hide

I am glad that I read the illustrated edition. Usually, the movies never live up to the books... same goes in this case. And if you liked the movie, read the book... it reels you from the start. And it is visually pleasing to have to illustrations and to refer to them as the tale unfolds. Does it drag at times, yes. But is it entertaining, well-written, and the plot riveting- YES! It didn't drag me out of my comfort zone and torture my psyche as it did others but then again, I realize it's a work of fiction and enjoy it for what it is- entertainment and reading pleasure.   hide
